Terms of Service

Last updated August 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CoCash, an AI-assisted tax tracking and filing tool for Nigerian individuals and businesses. By creating an account or using CoCash, you agree to these Terms.

1. What CoCash does

CoCash reads your bank statements — either uploaded by you or connected through our banking data partner — and uses AI to categorise transactions, estimate your tax position, and surface clarifying questions where the AI isn't confident. It is a tool to help you organise and understand your finances for tax purposes; it does not file your taxes on your behalf unless you explicitly engage that feature, and it is not a substitute for professional tax or legal advice.

2. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential.
  • You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • You must be legally able to enter into these Terms — generally, 18 years or older, or acting on behalf of a business you're authorised to represent.

3. Your data and content

You retain ownership of the bank statements and financial information you provide. You grant CoCash a license to process that data solely to provide the service — running AI classification, generating your tax summary, and communicating with you about it, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. AI-generated output

Transaction categories, confidence scores, and tax estimates are generated by an AI model and are provided for informational purposes. They can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing AI-suggested classifications before relying on them, and for the accuracy of any tax filing you ultimately submit — whether filed by you, through CoCash, or through a connected accountant.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Paid features are billed through our payment processor, Paystack, in the currency and amount shown at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise at the time of purchase.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use CoCash for any unlawful purpose, including tax fraud or evasion.
  • Upload statements or data you're not authorised to share.
  • Attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.
  • Use the service to build a competing product.

7. Third-party services

CoCash relies on third-party providers — including WorkOS for authentication, Mono for bank connectivity, Paystack for payments, and independent accountants for consultations you book through the app. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these third parties, though we choose partners we believe act responsibly with your data.

8. Termination

You may stop using CoCash and close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk to the service or other users.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

CoCash is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on AI-generated tax estimates.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll flag material changes in-app; continuing to use CoCash after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
